LOCKDOWN FILMMAKING

Work remotely, but stay connected throughout

What is Lockdown Filmmaking?

Lockdown Filmmaking is a safe method of shooting commercials and content films during lockdown and perhaps even beyond.

It’s a way of enabling agencies to produce films for their clients that aren’t necessarily shot on iPhones, or webcams by the cast at home.

At our disposal, we have state of the art filmmaking equipment and, with our Lockdown Filmmaking system, we’re in the position to collaborate remotely throughout the production process to produce work of the very highest quality.

THE CREATIVE

The creative obviously needs to be carefully tailored to accommodate lockdown guidelines and at the same time take in to consideration our filming facilities.

HERE’S ONE WE ALREADY MADE

In order to demonstrate Lockdown Filmmaking in practice we decided to produce a spot ourselves; and, what better film to make, under lockdown compliance, than one that demonstrates the importance of physical, or social distancing.

The 40” film was made in answer to the United Nations global call out to creatives to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

UN BRIEF – THE DOMINO EFFECT

PRODUCTION

The Preproduction Meeting remains a significant part of the whole production process; SO, after preproduction preparations have been completed remotely, the preproduction meeting would take place via a conference call.

Shooting is the part of the production that will feel the most different to us all, as only the Director of Photography will be physically present on set.  However, we have put in place a system that effectively allows the Director, Producer, Agency personnel and Client team to attend the shoot remotely.  All participants, via their laptops, iPads, or smart phones, will receive a live feed from the video playback monitor, together with a view of the home studio set-up, as well as visual and audio communication with everyone involved.

Most aspects of postproduction will take place remotely and then shared at the appropriately scheduled times for approval.  However, when required, the same, live, real time system employed for filming could also be applied for parts of the process like the grade.
